Using Knight Lab's Juxtapose JS you can compare images to show a before and after or, maybe two sides of an item. Here you can see what Buttevant Castle looked like in 1918 and, more recently, in 2009.

The image on the left is from a postcard held in the archive at the Glucksman Library and the image on the right was taken from Wikimedia Commons and is attributed to Kieran Hynes [CC BY-SA 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)].
